From the Notes of Nikan Shrubcover, concerning Ekron

The population of the city of Ekron is one of the most diverse in the world, perhaps only rivaled by the Shepherd city of Har-Baton; although in Ekron’s case it is most likely due to Zaphon’s enslavement of countless tribes on either side of the Rift. Burrows make up the largest segment of the enslaved population, followed by Kainanites with Shepherds being a distant third. Wendigos, Trolls, Giants, Were-creatures, and other dark and twisted races also reside there. It is even said that there is a large group of Wild Men who live there, however I think that story may be more grounded in superstition since there has never been one credible sighting of these mythological creatures. Regardless, the fact that there are so many Burrows enslaved in Ekron, in my opinion, lends credence to the ancient stories of Middlemeet as something more than just an ancient myth.
